Bourbon Glazed Pork Chops

Updated: Jan 13

Definitely a recipe you need to save.... you can also easily substitute chicken for the pork chops.... in fact the left over sauce from this week is currently being used to cook tonight's ribs!

This recipe purposely makes extra sauce… store it for later, you’ll thank me for it!

Ingredients

4 thick cut Pork Chops

4 Tablespoons Cornstarch divided

1/2 teaspoon Salt

1/4 teaspoon Pepper

2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

2 cloves Garlic, minced

2 cups Water

1 cup Apple Juice

½ cup Bourbon

1 cup chicken broth

1 1/3 cup Lite Soy Sauce

2/3 cup Ketchup

4 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar

2 cups packed Brown Sugar

1 teaspoon Onion Powder

1 teaspoon minced Ginger

1 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

Directions

Add Olive Oil to  pan and heat to medium high.

Coat Pork chops with 2 tbsp cornstarch, salt, and pepper.

Add chops to hot pan and cook 3 mins on each side. Remove chops from pan and set aside.

Add garlic to pan and cook about 30 seconds until it gets fragrant.  Add in your water, apple juice, bourbon, chicken broth, soy sauce, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, onion powder, ginger and red pepper flakes.

Bring to a boil and return chops and any juices to the pan.

Lower temperature to a medium and let cook 10-15 minutes until sauce is reduced by half. Be sure your pork temp is 145 for medium or 160 for well done.

In a small cup add a little cold water and whisk in remaining cornstarch.  Add this to pan and stir and cook until sauce is thickened.

Serve!  I usually serve with mashed potatoes and broccoli! Or with Mac n chz and green beans... depends on my mood!
